God of War developer hits out at 8 hour game suggestions

LazySAGamer - March 16th, 2010 at 9:30 am - 52 views - 3 Comments

Kratos

The reviews for God of War 3 have been pretty much entirely positive with a ton of perfect scores and great feedback from all corners.

However one thing has been mentioned a few times that has annoyed one of the GoW developers. According to some reviews the game is only an 8 hour game which once again opens up the debate of whether that’s worth a full price game.

Codemasters VP lashes out at the PSP – calls it a “bollocking useless waste of space”

LazySAGamer - March 16th, 2010 at 8:30 am - 23 views - One Comment

PSP Go

Codemasters VP, Gavin Cheshire, has been speaking about the PSP in a recent interview and he hasn’t held back at all.

To say he doesn’t like the PSP would be an incredible understatement.

“Well, speaking as a person who bought a PSP, the problem was that I always thought – because it was a better screen than iPod’s – that I’d be doing more with it. But it was such a bollocking useless waste of space; just getting stuff on it was ridiculous”

Crackdown 2 dated for July – Happy Birthday to me

LazySAGamer - March 16th, 2010 at 7:30 am - 10 views - One Comment

Crackdown 2

Microsoft and Ruffian Games have jointly announced that Crackdown 2 has now been dated and will be releasing in the USA on the 6th of July then in Asia, Australia and New Zealand on the 8th and in Europe (and other PAL areas) on the 9th.

Crackdown 2 has been highly anticipated ever since it’s predecessor burst onto the seen as a beta bundled with Halo 3 and while it isn’t going to quite make my birthday I am going to be asking for this one as a delayed birthday gift for sure.

Resistance, Ratchet and Clank Developers Going Multiplatform?

Resistance, Ratchet and Clank Developers Going Multiplatform? RC360 Lazygamer

Having created games for nothing but the Playstation range of consoles since their inception in 1994, you’d imagine Insomniac games would be firmly under Sony’s banner.

Well that’s not the case – they’re decidedly third party – and if the rumour mill is right, they’re looking to branch out and become multiplatform developers.

Real Life Portal Gun Is Awesome portalgun Lazygamer

If Monday has been getting you down then I have an awesome video to cheer you up.

A guy finally receives the Portal gun that he had ordered from Aperture Science only to have his office mates show absolutely no interest in what they believe is a fake product. It all starts getting cool (and eventually go all wrong) though when the gun works as planned.

Hit the jump for the full video.

Medal of Honor – Tier One Trailer Looks Fun, Impressive

Medal of Honor Tier One Trailer Looks Fun, Impressive ModernCompany2 Lazygamer

A brand new Medal of Honor has entered the world of YouTwitFace and is actually looking very impressive, especially considering that the last couple of Medal of Honor titles have been nothing particularly special.

In an attempt to win over the market that is currently engrossed in Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2, it looks as though EA have have created somewhat of a blend of the two. Add to that some great looking visuals and we may just have a winner.

The only problem I see is that with Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 already being out there, EA may release Medal of Honor just in time for everyone to be completely sick of the setting/genre.

Besides that, not too shabby I say. Trailer after the jump.

Gears of War 3 First Look (Tech Demo)

Gears of War 3 First Look (Tech Demo) GearsofWar3TechVideo thumb Lazygamer

If you thought Gears 2 was the best we were going to see from the Unreal Engine in this generation then you have another thing coming.

Check out the video after the break which was shown at GDC this year… I don’t personally believe the actual game will look this good but it’s a nice intro into the hype of Gears of War 3 which hasn’t yet been announced.

Here’s hoping they make a big announcement at E3 this year.

Are Valve stealing PS3 developers? Yes… and No (Plus a bonus free comic strip)

Are Valve stealing PS3 developers? Yes… and No (Plus a bonus free comic strip) valve thumb Lazygamer

There was some big news doing the rounds this weekend about Valve poaching some PS3 developers from Naughty Dog.

Valve are an enigma in the gaming industry at the moment as they are an independent developer which is massively popular and could make a ton of money by porting some of it’s main titles onto the PS3 and yet they don’t appear to want to.

God of War III Street Date Broken Over The Weekend

Nick de Bruyne - March 15th, 2010 at 10:06 am - 70 views - 3 Comments

God of War III Street Date Broken Over The Weekend GodOfWarKratos thumb Lazygamer

Uh oh, God of War III is out there, right now.

South African retailers seem to be notoriously bad for breaking street dates these days and the latest culprit is Incredible Connection.

While not all of the stores have the game on the shelves, a post on the South African PS3ZA forums has notified us that an Incredible Connection in Three Rivers already has the game on the shelves, available for everyone to purchase.

While we support sticking to street dates, this is God of War III we are talking about, and hey, it’s their bad, not yours. I hope that retailers get more organised and stop breaking dates, but until they do, we are the lucky ones.

Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack Features 2 Rehashes And A Stupid Price COD4Stimulus Lazygamer

Most of you know that I’m not the biggest fan of Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer anymore, thanks mostly to the constant barrage of glitches, hacks and all around cheap tactics being used all day, everyday.

Details on the exciting new Stimulus map pack have finally been released and I honestly can’t say that it has done anything to make me want to pick the game up and play it again, thanks mostly to a couple of details.

Hit the jump for all the info.

Jason West Vince Zampella

I’m not sure if it’s a compliment to their development abilities or the fact that they are currently in the mix of the ugliest Soap Opera the gaming industry has ever scene?

But it has been announced that Vince Zampella and Jason West have been picked up by one of the leading Hollywood talent agents, CAA, who fought off interest from another large agency to secure the rights to represent them in future business dealings.

Aaron Greenberg ‘caught’ re-tweeting anti-PS3 articles

Aaron Greenberg

Xbox 360’s Product Manager, Aaron Greenberg, has committed a cardinal sin by spreading negativity about his competitions fans instead of promoting his own product and followers.

He re-tweeted an article entitled “Why Sony Fanboys Are the Worst of the Bunch”. Unfortunately the original article appears to be down at the moment but I did stumble across a forum that had copied the entire article here.
